Abstract. In the 17th century, C. Huygens noticed that the oscillations of two pendulum clocks with a common support tend to synchronise. Since then, analogous phenomena have been observed in a large variety of different contexts. Synchronisation is ubiquitous in our world, governing the synchronous flashing of fireflies along the rivers of Malaysia as well as the dynamics of heart cells. The astonishing progresses in nano-technologies offer a new arena where to study this phenomenon in the quantum domain. I will review recent progresses in this direction.
