Abstract. I will explain how higher-form hydrodynamics can be used to construct nonextremal brane effective actions in string theory whose extrema describe black hole solutions. Then I will show how those effective actions can be used to construct nonextremal metastable antibranes in Klebanov-Strassler and in M-theory.
