Scientific Calendar Event

Description
The Mathematical Faculties of the National University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) and Samarkand University (Uzbekistan) and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy, are organizing an International School and Conference on Foliations, Dynamical Systems, Singularity Theory and Perverse Sheaves from 6 to 21 October 2009 in Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan.

The main aim of this School and Conference is to bring together specialists, researchers and students working on various aspects of Algebraic Geometry, of Foliations and of Dynamical Systems to discuss and further develop the interactions among these subjects. Some areas of interest are: Singularities in algebraic and analytic geometry, Hodge theory, local and global theory of foliations on varieties, the theory of D-modules and representation theory.

The academic programme consists of a School during the first week and a Conference during the second week. In the School there will be courses on topics of current interest taught by leading experts. In the Conference there will be Plenary Talks and Sessions on Dynamical Systems, on Foliations, on Hodge theory and perverse sheaves.
