Description |
Africa in general and central Africa in particular is as the rest of the world facing serious environmental issues due to climate change and climate variability. To contribute to address this concern, a research laboratory called Laboratory of Environmental Physic was recently created in the Faculty of sciences of the University of Dschang. ICTP and the University of Dschang have organized a School on Climate Modelling to give 25 students the opportunity to use the laboratory and familiarize with the regional climate model RegCM developed at the Abdus Salam ICTP. Students will learn more about how to use this model to study to investigate climate variability. This includes installation, running the models, statistical tools for model evaluation, presentation of some results about the performance of RegCM.
