The School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences, University of Ghana, in collaboration with ICTP Physics Without Frontiers, is organizing a comprehensive One-week Training Workshop on Machine Learning with R/Python, scheduled for November 13-17, 2023.

In today's world, data has become the new oil, with almost every industry relying on its potential. However, like oil, data becomes valuable only when it is processed and transformed into useful insights. This is where data science plays a crucial role. Over the past two decades, data science has emerged as one of the most sought-after professions, addressing the pressing need for experts who can proficiently analyze data, derive meaningful conclusions, and effectively communicate their findings.

The Physics Without Frontiers Course aims to equip participants with the essential resources and techniques to analyze visual and statistical data, construct models, and communicate results effectively to make data-driven decisions. This program is designed to help students (Undergraduate and Masters) develop in-demand data science and machine learning skills. By focusing on Python/R, a high-level programming language, the course empowers students to utilize machine learning techniques to tackle real-world problems.

The course will feature a combination of theoretical and technical lectures, along with hands-on sessions dedicated to teaching students how to effectively use R-Python Programming tools in practical scenarios. Participants can look forward to a rich learning experience that will foster their data science capabilities and open doors to exciting opportunities in the field.

The Workshop is designed for Ghanian students to participate in person.
Knowledge in R/Python is not a pre-requisite for participants.
Female students are encouraged to apply.
There is no registration fee.
