For more information and updates on more courses, please visit our websiteSupporting physics teaching and research in Latin America Physics Without Frontiers (PWF) and PhysicsLatam are pleased to announce our upcoming course on Commutative Algebra: Toward Algebraic Geometry. This course will be taught online from 9 September 2024 to 31 January 2025. This course is part of the long-term program on Algebraic Geometry and Related Topics. This advanced course is designed for senior undergraduate and graduate students from Latin America who have a background in Abstract Algebra and are interested in exploring commutative and algebraic geometry in depth. Students who complete the course will receive an ICTP-PWF certificate. To further enhance the learning experience, the course will feature a series of guest speakers who will deliver short mini-courses on the latest developments in commutative and algebraic geometry. PWF is committed to providing a platform for students in Latin America to pursue advanced studies in Physics and Mathematics. As part of this commitment, top-performing students without MSc./Ph.D. will be mentored to pursue studies abroad by providing advice and recommendations about scholarships at international programs.
