DESCRIPTION:An ICTP Meeting in person\n\n	 \n\n	ICTP and SISSA\, in colla
boration with the partner institutions of the International Master Course
in Physics of Complex Systems (PCS)\, and with the financial support of Po
litecnico di Torino and Université Franco Italienne\, are organizing the
Spring College on the Physics of Complex Systems from 17 February to 14 Ma
rch 2025.\n\n	 \n\n	Many complex systems in physics\, biology\, engineeri
ng and economics are characterised by a large number of interacting degree
s of freedom\, giving rise to a non-trivial collective behaviour. The theo
retical and computational tools for a quantitative analysis of complex sys
tems are often rooted in modern theoretical physics. The Spring College on
the Physics of Complex Systems aims to expose students to a selection of
topics at the forefront of research during an intensive\, 4-week programme
.\n\n	 \n\n	The Spring College is part of the PCS Master programme and it
is open to qualified Master and PhD students\, and to young researchers.L
ecturers and Courses:\n	Zhaoping Li\, University of Tübingen\, Max Planck
Institute for Biological Cybernetics\, Germany“Understanding vision: th
eory\, models and data”\n	Ariel Amir\, Weizmann Institute of Science\,
 Israel\n	Amir Erez\, The Racah Institute of Physics\, Israel\n	"Physics o
f bacteria: from single-cells to ecology"\n	Shamik Gupta\, Tata Institute
of Fundamental Research\, India\n	"Synchronization: A playground for noneq
 uilibrium statistical physics"\n	Jacopo Grilli\, ICTP\, Italy\n	"Quantitat
ive Physiology | Critical thinking"\n	 \n\n	Call for Contributed Abstract
s: All applicants are encouraged to submit an abstract for a poster presen
tation. Please use our abstract templates available below for download.\n\
n	 \n\n	RULES FOR PARTICIPATION: The spring college will be composed of
4 courses each of 9 lectures and a final exam for each course. Candidates
are required to solicit recommendation letters to be sent by their supervi
sors in support of their application. Participants with financial support
from the ICTP and Master PCS students are required to attend at least 80%
of the courses and to take the final exam for each course. Certificates of
attendance will be awarded only to participants who have attended at leas
 t 80% of the courses.\n	 \n\n	 \n\n	Grants: A limited number of grants a
re available to support the attendance of selected participants\, with pri
ority given to participants from developing countries. There is no registr
 ation fee.\n	 \n\n//indico.ictp.it/event/10821/
