An ICTP-IAEA Meeting in person
Accelerator-based MeV single ion techniques are rapidly growing in response to the demand for new materials and high precision materials engineering methods. Leading edge fields include biomedical tissue engineering, quantum devices, optical and magnetic information storage technology, all require nanoscale engineering through controlled materials modification.
Topics
Introduction to single ion technology and applications
Accelerator technology for generating single ions, beam focusing and scanning systems
Radiobiology and DNA damage and repair, bystander effect
Quantification of radiation damage in cells and semiconductor devices
Characterization of radiation hardness and devices for harsh conditions/ IAEA TRS 490
The workshop is organized together with the IAEA-National University of Singapore Collaborating Centre.
Speakers
P. Barberet, University of Bordeaux, France
J. Meijer, Leipzig University, Germany
P. Olivero, University of Turin, Italy
K. Teruaki, National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology, Japan
E. Vittone, University of Turin, Italy
