DESCRIPTION:\n	The College will provide analytical training and informatio
n on the assessment of energy system and energy technologies when developi
ng analyzing energy transition and demand and supply options in line with
the global climate treaty of Paris Agreement.\n\n	 \n\n	Transition to low
carbon future depends on actions within energy system\, as the major sour
ce of anthropogenic greenhouse gases (GHG). There is a need to identify an
d evaluate cost-effective\, low-carbon energy demand and supply paths. The
College is aimed at improving knowledge and skills for assessment of ener
gy technologies in relation to climate change.\n\n	Analytical tools and da
ta sets for energy planning have substantially improved in the last decade
. Still the expertise to conduct such assessments is lacking in many devel
oping countries. Nationally specific assessments to develop set of Nationa
lly Determined Contributions (NDCs) are needed. The College will provide i
nformation about energy related climate and sustainable development issues
and interlinkages\, and training on evaluation of NDCs\, including potent
ial role of nuclear power and Small Modular Reactors.\n\n	 \n\n	Topics:\n
\n Climate change and sustainable development\n	\n Energy system analysi
 s and planning\n	\n Low-carbon technologies and innovative solution for e
mission reduction scenarios\n	\n Demonstration of the application of the
IAEA’s tools to analyse transition towards low carbon energy systems\n	\
n Comparison of various paths and technological options\, including nucle
ar power\, sector coupling and deep electrification\n	\n Work sessions on
assessment of energy systems\, and development of related case studies\n\
n	 \n\n	 \n\n	Grants: A limited number of grants are available to suppor
t the attendance of selected participants\, with priority given to partici
pants from developing countries. There is no registration fee.\n	 \n\n//i
