DESCRIPTION:An ICTP Meeting\n\n	\n	The advanced workshops are a week-long 
 hands-on activity that exposes participants to advanced techniques/approac
 hes in specialized areas. Participants are expected to have a suitable bac
 kground or have participated in a prior Summer School part of of this acti
 vity.\n\nFour applied/thematic workshops on Research Data Science will run
  in parallel:Workshop 1: Big-Data Analytics \n\n		Analysis of Large Scale
  Real-Time and Streaming Data\n	\n		Real time event processing\, low laten
 cy query and visualization\n	\n		Hands-on sessions on Data ingesting and t
 ools for capturing real time events/ streams\, processing\, low latency qu
 ery and visualization\nWorkshop 2: Compute Infrastructure\n\n		Data analys
 is tasks (from laptops to HPC platforms)\n	\n		Deploying and using applica
 tions (jupyter notebooks) on laptops and HPC clusters\n	\n		A look at larg
 e scale data analysis on Cloud Computing Platforms\nWorkshop 3: Urban Data
  Science\n	\n			Foundations of Urban Data Science and Geospatial Analytics
  (data integration\, ethics and FAIR data principles).\n		\n			Urban Data 
 Creation\, Integration\, and Analysis Techniques (using tools like QGIS\, 
 Google Earth Engine\, on spatial data modelling\, urban land use change de
 tection\, and visual analytics).\n		\n			Health\, Mobility\, and Sustainab
 ility (mapping and tracing disease\, mobility patterns).\n		\n			Predictiv
 e Modeling and Decision Support for Smart Cities (machine learning models 
 to forecast urban dynamics e.g population growth\, infrastructure\, climat
 e change and health risk).\n	\nWorkshop 4: Ocean Science Data\n	\n			FAIR 
 ocean data stewardship through enhanced discoverability of metadata\, shar
 ing of best practices\, co-developing standards\, and dataset documentatio
 n.\n		\n			Ocean observation to data services using real workflows from ac
 quisition to dissemination via platforms like ODIS and GLOSS.\n		\n			Appl
 ied ocean data analytics with open-source platforms to facilitate modellin
 g of coastal dynamics & processes for data-driven decision making\n		\n			
 Marine biodiversity data practices using OBIS for species distribution map
 ping\, data submission\, and regional ecosystem assessments.\n	\n\n	Call f
 or Contributed Abstracts: All applicants are requested to submit an abstra
 ct for a poster presentation. Abstract templates are available below for d
 ownload.\n	 \nIndividuals seeking an introduction to Research Data Scienc
 e can apply to The CODATA-RDA School that runs immediately before the work
 shops.Grants: A limited number of grants are available to support the atte
 ndance of selected participants from developing countries. There is no reg
