With a generous support from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Lebanon’s First Quantum Technology Workshop, organised by Ali Lezeik, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany, with Dr. Michel Kazan, at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon will bring the ideas of quantum technology to participants through sharing the methods and techniques of quantum sensing, computing and navigation.

The workshop will be held in person at the American University of Beirut from October 24th 2025 until October 26th 2025.

The workshop will provide a lecture series focusing on quantum sensing and quantum computing, introducing the basic principles of quantum control of neutral atoms, ions, and photons and how to manipulate such systems for sensing and computing purposes.

With an introductory talk on "100 Years of Quantum Mechanics", Dr. Bassem SabraNotre Dame University-Louaize, Lebanon will walk us through the early development of quantum theory to today's applications. Dr. Dennis Schlippert, Leibniz University Hannover, Germany and Dr. Rawad Mezher, Quandela, Paris, France will then take us into details of quantum sensing and quantum computing through a series of lectures (4 x 90 min) explaining the basics of atom light interaction, qubits and other concepts.

The workshop will also feature dedicated talks on career opportunities in Germany and France in the quantum industry.

At the end of the workshop, registered participants will present short talks on topics assigned by the lecturers. The participants will then receive a certificate from The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP).

We look forward to your participation in Lebanon's First Quantum Technology Workshop.
