DESCRIPTION:The call for application is now closed.\n	The proposed worksho
p intends to help early career researchers from diverse theoretical scienc
es background to transition to work in physical and systems oncology areas
\, and experimental cancer biologists with a quantitative bent to incorpor
ate theoretical frameworks in their research.\n	A tumor is a complex ecosy
stem with a myriad of bio-physical and -chemical effects operative over va
rying time and length scales – from genetic/non-genetic changes in cells
during cancer initiation to colonization of distant organs and resurgence
of tumor after therapy. While it has been largely been studied from a red
uctionist and descriptive molecular perspective\, recent advancements in e
xperimental tools have enabled mapping systems-level spatiotemporal change
s with high precision and thus attracted the attention of physicists\, mat
hematicians\, and engineers. However\, developing concerted theoretical fr
ameworks to make testable predictions for disease progression is still in
its infancy. Participants will be exposed to the latest open questions in
the field and experience an intellectual cross-fertilization of research i
deas in terms of applying different models to better predict cancer progre
 ssion dynamics.\n Topics:\n Stochastic cell-fate decisions in cancer\n	\
n Cellular cooperation and competition in cancer\n	\n Cell mechanics and
soft matter aspects in cancer\n	\n Emergent dynamics of tumor-stroma int
 eractions and co-evolution\nSpeakers:\n	N. Balasubramanian\, IISER Pune\,

a poster presentation.\n\n	Please use ICTP templates available for downlo
