DESCRIPTION:The call for applications is now open.\n	Coordinated by AAU-AM
 U-CIMPA-CoRE-Math-ICTP-ISP\n	The topics of this school are arithmetic and 
 algebraic geometry\, with a view toward applications\, computational aspec
 ts and modern algorithms.\n	Arithmetic and algebraic geometry are classica
 l topics\, yet highly active fields in pure mathematics which recently hav
 e found practical applications\, for instance in cryptography and coding t
 heory. The school will give an accessible introduction to various foundati
 onal topics in arithmetic and algebraic geometry\, including basics of com
 mutative algebra\, the language of modern algebraic geometry.\n	Moreover\,
  we will highlight computational aspects and introduce the students to the
  usage of computer algebra systems. These are indispensable tools for rese
 arch in arithmetic and algebraic geometry\, as well as for practical appli
