DESCRIPTION:The call for applications is now closed.\n	Coordinated by AAU-
AMU-CIMPA-CoRE-Math-ICTP-ISP\n	The topics of this school are arithmetic an
d algebraic geometry\, with a view toward applications\, computational asp
ects and modern algorithms.\n	Arithmetic and algebraic geometry are classi
cal topics\, yet highly active fields in pure mathematics which recently h
ave found practical applications\, for instance in cryptography and coding
theory. The school will give an accessible introduction to various founda
tional topics in arithmetic and algebraic geometry\, including basics of c
ommutative algebra\, the language of modern algebraic geometry.\n	Moreover
\, we will highlight computational aspects and introduce the students to t
he usage of computer algebra systems. These are indispensable tools for re
search in arithmetic and algebraic geometry\, as well as for practical app
 lications. \nTopics:\n\n Algebraic varieties\n	\n Commutative algebra\n
 	\n Elliptic Curves\n	\n Algebraic Number Theory\n	\n Finite Fields\n	\
