DESCRIPTION:\n	\n		 \n	\n In the application\, OU Certificate for chosen
track\, OU Certificate for Political Economy and supporting documents are
  mandatory\n	\n		 \n	\n \n The Energy Modelling Platform – Global 20
26 (EMP-G) will be held from 6th to 24rd July. Hosted by the International
Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP)\, this is a fantastic opportunity t
o get free training\, access to discussion forums\, and coaching skills in
models and tools for all of your energy planning needs. Before the beginn
ing of the event on 13th of July\, there will be a one-week advance tool t
 raining\, from 6th to 10th of July. \n \n			 \n \n There are ten tra
cks listed below\, each focusing on different tools. Note\, that for any t
rack that you apply for\, you must complete the Open University course of
your one desired track and obtain a certificate\, attaching it as a part o
f your application to the EMP-G (see this link to the courses and video in
structions on webpage\; for the ‘Advanced CLEWs - CLEWs++ modelling’ t
rack\, please complete the “Introduction to CLEWs” OU course). Additio
nally\, regardless of what track you apply for\, you must also complete th
e Open University course on Political Economy and obtain a certification\,
attaching it as a part of your application to the EMP-G. The tracks are d
 eveloped with UNDESA\, IAEA\, UNDP\, IRENA\, ESMPA - The World Bank Group\
 , SEforALL\, WRI\, Imperial College London\, DESNZ\, the OpTIMUS community
of practice\, several universities\, and the Climate Compatible Growth (#
 CCG) programme.\n \n			 \n	\n	\n		 \n	\n The EMP-G is split into two p
arts: \n		 \n	\n (1) you will be trained in the tool you applied for\,
further building your skills on top of what you learnt in the Open Univers
 ity course\; \n	\n - Online – 6th to 10th of July\n	\n (2) you will u
se your new skills to conduct analyses on country-specific case studies\,
 with assistance being provided from trainers. \n	\n - In-person – 13th
July to 23rd July \n	\n		 \n	\n The only exception to the above seetin
g is the “Electricity Transition Playbook”\, which is a weeklong inter
active course focused on guiding your country through an energy transition
\, taking part in the last week of the EMP-G (20th July to 24th July). \n
\n		 \n	\n There is no fee to attend\, however competition for the limi
ted spots is high\n	\n		 \n	\n Please see programme overview at the bo
ttom of this page.\n	\n		 \n	\n You will receive an ICTP certificate on
attendance and successful completion of EMP-G (obtained after attending EM
 P-G).\n	\n		 \n	\n Tracks:\n	\n \n • OnSSET/The Global Electrificat
ion Platform\n \n • Energy and Flexibility Modelling: OSeMOSYS & Flex
 Tool\n \n • Introduction to CLEWs\n \n • Energy Access Explorer:
  A Data-driven\, Integrated and Inclusive Energy Planning\n \n • The
Electricity Transition Playbook \n \n • Geospatial data\, best pract
ices for collection and management \n \n • Financial Analysis of Pow
er Sector Projects using the FINPLAN Model\n \n • Geospatial Clean Co
 oking access modelling\, using OnStove \n \n • Financial Modelling f
 or Energy Transitions (MINFin\, FinTrack & FinCore)\n \n • Advanced C
 LEWs - CLEWs++ modelling \n		\n			- please complete the “Introduction t
 o CLEWs” OU course as the pre-requisite\n \n			 \n	\n	\n		 \n	\n For
  detailed description of the different tracks\, click here.\n	\n		 \n	\n
Prerequisites: The prerequisites to be admitted to EMP-G are provided
at the bottom of this page.\n	\n		 \n	\n Computer & connection requireme
nts: Note that participants will require a computer with stable internet
access to participate in the training. It is recommended that participants
have at least 8 GB of RAM and a relatively new computer. Nonetheless\, sp
ecific tracks have additional computer requirements:\n	\n - Energy Syst
em Modelling using the Modelling User Interface for OSeMOSYS (MUIO): Wind
 ows 10 or later\, 8GB RAM\, MS Office\n	\n - Introduction to CLEWs: Wi
 ndows 10 computer\, 8GB RAM.\n	\n		 \n	\n		 \n	\n For selected applican
ts the Induction Session will be held on the 1st of July.\n	\n		 \n	\n
\n	\n \n Registration: There is no registration fee. However\, compe
 tition for space is very high and limited.\n \n			 \n \n Grants: A l
imited number of grants are available to support the attendance of selecte
d participants\, with priority given to participants from developing count
 ries.\n	\n	\n		 \n\n\n\n//indico.ictp.it/event/11151/
