DESCRIPTION:The call for applications is open. Please click on 'Apply here
' on the left\, to submit your application. An ICTP Meeting\n	This school &
workshop at ICTP Trieste connects two fast-growing quantum technology fie
lds: ultrafast single-electron physics and quantum thermodynamics\, bringi
ng students\, early-career researchers\, and experts together to foster cr
oss-disciplinary dialogue and new collaborations.\n	The drive for faster\,
more precise\, and energy-efficient quantum devices is pushing technology
into a regime where individual quantum entities—single electrons\, phot
ons\, and the like—take center stage. Ultrafast Single-Electron Electron
ics enables the generation\, control\, and detection of individual charges
with extreme temporal precision\, while Quantum Thermodynamics provides t
he framework to understand their stability\, efficiency\, and fundamental
limits. How do thermodynamic laws apply at the single-particle level? The
school combines lectures\, tutorials and journal clubs to build foundation
s in both fields\, while the workshop highlights recent advances. The prog
ram also promotes strong participation from developing countries\, in line
with ICTP’s mission of global scientific exchange.Topics\n\n Single-pa
