DESCRIPTION:An ICTP-IAEA meeting\n	The world cultural and natural heritage
  faces significant hazard due to climate-related extreme events and disast
 ers.  Historical buildings\, monuments\, archaeological sites\, and natur
 al features are continuously exposed to changing temperature and precipita
 tion patterns. The resulting acidification and rising levels of oceans and
  seas\, landslides\, increased frequency of freeze/thaw cycles\, coastal e
 rosion among other factors\, can cause materials to crack and split\; by d
 estabilising the structure of buildings and damaging archaeological and na
 tural heritage sites. Solutions to this challenging situation calls for co
 mprehensive actions in the areas of research\, education\, mitigation and 
 adaptation.\n	 \n\n	The workshop aims at creating a trans-disciplinary in
 ternational forum to discuss best practice and explore novel pathways to b
 uild climate resilience to preserve cultural and natural heritage under th
 reat in the context of sustainable people-environment relations.\n	The wor
 kshop will bring together trans-disciplinary international specialists\, i
 ncluding archaeologists\, curators\, nuclear physicists\, geochronologists
 \, geochemists\, architects\, climatologists\, ethologists and specialists
  of natural sciences. Both PhD students\, early career and experienced sci
