Abstract
The Higgs Branch of Superconformal Field Theories (SCFT) with 8 supercharges is a notoriously intricate object to characterize. While the magnetic quiver framework has recently provided a powerful indirect description - by relating Higgs branches of theories with 8 supercharges to the Coulomb branches of auxiliary 3d N=4 theories - a direct geometric understanding remains elusive.

In this work we study 5d N=1 SCFTs engineered via M-theory on non-compact Calabi-Yau threefolds, where the Higgs branch corresponds to the space of normalizable complex structure deformations of the threefold.

Focusing on simple classes of Calabi-Yau threefolds with non-isolated singularities, we show how key features of the Higgs branch can be captured in a purely geometric fashion, demonstrating precise agreement with expectations from brane webs and magnetic quivers. This framework might provide new insights on the geometric origin of magnetic quivers.
