The call for applications will be open soon.
African biophysics workshop advancing integrated computational and experimental approaches through training, mentorship, networking, and collaboration across the continent.
The workshop promotes integrated computational and experimental biophysics through lectures, hands-on training in molecular simulations, structural biology, spectroscopy, mechanobiology, and AI-driven approaches for biophysical research. Participants will gain experience with open-source scientific tools and resources for molecular modeling, protein structure analysis, and data-driven studies relevant to biomedicine and agriculture. Experimental sessions will explore techniques including AFM, cryo-EM, single-molecule biophysics, protein crystallization, and structure determination, with applications to diseases of major relevance in Africa such as malaria and tuberculosis. Poster and oral sessions will foster scientific exchange and collaborative African research networks.
