Scientific Calendar Event

Description This 3-lecture series is a deep dive into practical quantum computing for beginners.

Dr. Muhammad Faryad from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan, will take participants from paper and pen to programming an actual quantum computer using Qiskit.

Details: This 3-lecture series will focus on introducing practical quantum computer programming to beginners along with a basic theoretical framework. The goal is taking participants from paper and pen to programming an actual quantum computer using Qiskit. For this purpose, simple algorithms like teleportation and a simple quantum neural network will be implemented to show how quantum computers not only can process quantum information but can also be used to solve real-world data science problems like classification. The lecture participants will be provided with the code files to play with after the lectures and build towards deeper understanding of quantum computing.

The online lectures will focus on the following topics:

12th May, 10.00 CEST - Introduction to quantum gates and states

19th May, 10.00 CEST - Entanglement generation and teleportation

26th May, 10.00 CEST - Quantum neural networks.
