DESCRIPTION:Advancing the theoretical and methodological skills of East Af
 rican physics students and faculty is a prime requirement to develop their
  ability to be not just consumers of developed theoretical methodology\, b
 ut also active contributors to it. There is currently little research outp
 ut in methodological topics in density functional theory from East Africa\
 , which points to an undeveloped area of training and research.\nThe goal 
 of this Physics Without Frontiers school is to train the next generation o
 f lecturers/researchers in the fundamentals of density-functional theory\,
