DESCRIPTION:\n	Understanding fluctuations of nonequilibrium observables ac
ross stochastic trajectories is essential for various fields of research\,
from quantum thermal machines to biological motors. We introduce a framew
ork to analyze the statistics of counting observables over the recently in
troduced concept of stochastic excursions. Our approach offers analytical
 expressions for currents\, heat\, entropy production\, and more\, capturin
g their correlations and finite-time fluctuations. As main results\, we sh
ow how distinct noise sources contribute to fluctuations\, and prove a flu
ctuation theorem for excursions that reveals a precision-dissipation trade
-off. We illustrate how these results provide new insights for the experim
entally realized absorption refrigerator. Lastly\, we show how observing e
xcursions can be used to infer thermodynamic quantities\, discussing their
  connection to previously established methods.\n\n//indico.ictp.it/event/1
