The training focuses on the application of data science techniques to understand Space Weather phenomena and the ionosphere. One of the most valuable data sources for studying the ionosphere comes from Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). These systems provide continuous, high-resolution measurements of the total electron content (TEC) in the ionosphere, enabling researchers to monitor and model space weather effects. GNSS data can also be used to study Earth's rotation, crustal deformations, and other geophysical processes. The planned training will introduce participants to the fundamental principles of data science in scientific research, using GNSS data as a practical example. Attendees will learn how to process and analyze observational data to gain insights into complex geophysical systems.
