 shi from School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS)\, IBA\, Pakista
 n. The lecture is aimed at a general physics audience.Abstract\nThe idea o
 f supersymmetry is central to modern high-energy theory and beyond. Abdus 
 Salam made seminal contributions to the development of this idea in its ea
 rliest days. In particular\, Salam originated the notions of superspace an
 d superfields\, which have become indispensable tools in the study of supe
 rsymmetric theories. In this talk\, I will explain Salam’s idea of super
 space through some simple examples. Salam also made foundational contribut
 ions to the theory of supergravity which continues to be an area of immens
 e interest and utility. Time permitting\, I will also briefly touch upon s
 ome of Salam’s contributions to supergravity. This talk is intended for 
 a general physics audience rather than specialists in high-energy theory.B
 io\nBabar Qureshi is a theoretical physicist working at IBA\, Karachi\, Pa
 kistan\, with broad interests in quantum field theory and quantum gravity.
  Dr. Qureshi received his undergraduate degrees from University of the Pun
 jab\, Salam's alma mater\, and his PhD from Syracuse and has held research
  positions at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies and MIT's Center f
 or Theoretical Physics. Dr. Qureshi has a keen interest in education and h
 as played a pivotal role in the development and success of some of the top
