Abstract
Consider QCD with gauge group SU(Nc) and Nf massless quark flavors. In the Veneziano limit (Nc and Nf tend to infinity with Nf/Nc fixed),  Nf/Nc becomes a continuous parameter. For small ε = 11/2 − Nf/Nc, the theory flows to the weakly coupled Caswell-Banks–Zaks infrared fixed point. One proposed mechanism for the loss of conformality at larger ε is a merger with another fixed point, after which the two move into the complex plane. This mechanism has also been conjectured to mark the onset of chiral symmetry breaking. We calculate the scaling dimensions of four-quark operators in the Veneziano limit up to fourth order in ε, using their approach to marginality to test the fixed-point merger scenario. I will discuss results from several resummation techniques and their implications for the lower edge of the QCD conformal window.
