ICTP Associates Seminars are part personal, part scientific, with speakers sharing their career trajectory and experiences, then introducing their research field and work. This seminar will be given by Francisco Azpilicueta from Universidad Nacional de La Plata / CONICET - Argentina. Abstract The first segment of this presentation will provide a brief overview of my home country, city, and institution of affiliation. Following this, I will provide some information about my academic career, highlighting the pivotal role of the ICTP in my professional development. In the second part, I will give a friendly introduction to Space Weather as the framework for studying the upper layer of the atmosphere (called the ionosphere), which we are jointly studying and modeling with the STI group. Bio Francisco Azpilicueta is an Adjunct Professor of Applied Statistics at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Facultad de Ciencias Astronómicas y Geofísicas, La Plata, Argentina. He is currently a Simons Sabbatical Associate at the ICTP. His research focuses on studying and modeling the terrestrial ionosphere using data from ground stations and satellite missions. His work combines basic research with technical applications. |
