| Description |
Gravity from Entropy (GfE) is a recently proposed description of gravity arising from a statistical mechanics and information theory action (the GfE action).
According to this approach gravity is the information captured by the interplay between geometry and matter fields. The GfE equations reduce to Einstein equation in the low energy limit, while the describe modified gravity for high energy and large curvatures. In this talk we will provide a gentle introduction to the topic, focusing on the statistical mechanics aspects of the theory, and introducing gently the necessary differential geometry elements. The presentation is likely to be interactive providing a perspective on the black hole area law and the role of the second principle of thermodynamics in cosmology. |
