Abstract Over the past decades, integrability techniques have emerged as powerful tools for exploring a wide class of quantum field theories beyond their weak-coupling regime. These methods, which rely on the existence of an infinite set of mutually commuting conserved charges, have led to notable milestones such as the all-loop derivation of certain two-dimensional scattering matrices and remarkable finite-coupling results for the spectra of theories such as N=4 super Yang-Mills. However, although these techniques have been widely studied in flat space, little is known about their extension to the analysis of quantum field theories in curved spacetimes. With this goal in mind, in this talk I will discuss the integrability properties of the O(N) non-linear sigma model when placed on a curved background. In particular, I will demonstrate the existence of an infinite set of non-local currents whose conservation persists upon quantization, and I will comment on how this result opens the door to an integrable bootstrap approach of boundary correlators in AdS2. Based on work in progress with Tarek Anous and Charles Thomas.
