Abstract In this talk, I will review the current approach to the manipulation and control of optomechanical systems at the quantum level. By adopting a full open-system perspective, I will illustrate the key steps necessary to achieve quantum control of massive mechanical systems by optical drives, and demonstrate the suitability of these devices to study non-equilibrium physics, quantum networking, and even exotic collapse models. |
