Abstract: I discuss the behavior of various observables with the $\theta$-angle in the holographic model closest to (planar) Yang-Mills theory. The results agree qualitatively with the available data from the lattice, providing benchmark behaviors for further corrections. I then consider the inclusion of massive quarks and derive the dependence of the free energy on $theta$.
