The workshop aims to enhance knowledge of participants on safety standards and good practice for radiation protection of patients and staff in image guided interventional procedures, and to support improving their practical skills and competences in this field.

The workshop will consist of lectures and practical sessions such as problem solving, case studies and information exchange among participants, who will gain knowledge on the safety aspects related to the use of imaging to guide various types of interventional procedures. The sessions will be highly intensive and interactive, and would expect participants to exhibit high degree of commitment and enthusiasm.

The workshop seeks to target experienced clinical medical physicists and radiation protection officers of departments performing image guided interventional procedures. Preference will be given to candidates who are also involved in providing training of interventionalists. The participant is expected to disseminate.
