Description
Kondo transport in a two-electrode mesoscopic system under bias has unique properties because of two electron reservoirs and applied bias. The former yields two tunneling levels in addition to the Kondo peak at the Fermi level and the latter causes quasiparticle resonant tunneling when the chemical potential of one reservoir reaches the tunneling level. Various lineshapes of nonlinear conductance observed in a quantum point contact, scanning tunneling microscopy on a magnetic atom adsorbed on a metallic substrate, and a single-electron transistor with a quantum dot, which are not fully understood yet, can be explained by the quasiparticle tunneling through the abovementioned tunneling levels. I present novel Green's function technique to obtain the spectral function for a given bias.
