SSwift heavy ion irradiation of nanostructured materials
Place
Location: Trieste - Italy
Date:
20 Aug 15:00 - 16:00
Description
High energy heavy ion irradiation is a powerful tool for modification of semiconductor and metallic nanoparticles in oxide matrixes as well as oxide particles in metallic materials. In first part of this talk, swift heavy ion-induced changes in structure, electrical and optical properties of Si and Ge nanoclusters in SiO2 layers are discussed. Second part of presentation is devoted to microstructural examination of nanostructured ceramics and oxide particles in oxide dispersion strengthened alloys irradiated in the electronic stopping regime.
