*****NEW! MESSAGE FOR ALL ATTENDEES*** Great news from the ICTP LIBRARY: The ICTP Library has been given online access, on a trial basis, to the Journal of Nuclear Fusion published by the IOP for the IAEA. Please check the "materials" area on this page to get the information sheet on how to access the link to download Fusion articles. ****************************************************** IMPORTANT: Application requirement (Abstract) “Applicants are asked to submit, as part of the application procedure, a 1-page abstract of a scientific contribution related to their work on nuclear structure and decay data, that is suitable for presentation at the meeting. We do not supply a template; applicants can format it as they like. The presentation will generally be given as a Poster, but in some cases the Organizers may ask the accepted applicant to give a short talk.”
The aim of this workshop is to introduce both young and established nuclear scientists to the evaluation of nuclear structure and decay data, by providing them with basic training in the evaluation methodologies, procedures and formats that are involved in the assembly and maintenance of the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF). This workshop belongs to a series of well-defined ICTP workshops that have been crucial for attracting young nuclear scientists to nuclear structure and decay data evaluation and for providing them with the basic tools to pursue this activity. The main topics of the workshop include: ➢ modern nuclear experimental techniques & facilities; ➢ modern nuclear structure models; ➢ nuclear structure and decay data: compilations and evaluations; ➢ evaluation methodologies for nuclear structure and decay data; ➢ analysis and utility codes; ➢ ENSDF editors and Web tools; ➢ databases and online retrieval software.
