TWAS is organizing a workshop on /Scientific Refugees: Transnational Resources, /to be held on 13-17 March in Trieste. The workshop will focus on the current refugee crisis but from the perspective of the scientists, engineers, medical doctors and science students among the millions of refugees who have fled conflict in countries, such as Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen in recent years, as well as the scenarios in countries that have emerged from periods of war/civil unrest . The event aim to develop a series of recommendations on scientific refugees that can be of value to policymakers, research centres, educational institutions and refugee resettlement organisations. The meeting is by invitation only but space is reserved for a number of locally based scientists who have personal experiences in this area that they may like to share.
