Scientific Calendar Event

Description
PWF has partnered with the National University of Lesotho to organize annual schools focusing on Quantum Computing and Laser Physics. The 2023 School, to be held on 18th and 19th November, will introduce quantum computing and laser physics to undergraduate students utilizing optical equipment and open-source quantum computing platforms, and intends to highlight how quantum computing and laser technology can be used as drivers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Students will receive lectures and hands-on tutorials using platforms such as QuTip, Qiskit, Bracket, Google Cirq, and TensorFlow Quantum.

HOW TO APPLY:
The deadline for application has passed.
Eligible students are those with a tertiary-level background in either physics, mathematics, engineering, or computing (computer science). The prospective students should be familiar with at least one programming language and high school optics. Familiarity with Python will be an added advantage.

Local organizers:
Naleli Matjelo (National University of Lesotho)
Sekhants'o Lara  (National University of Lesotho)
Makhamisa Senekane (University of Johannesburg)

Information on the full program is now available (see link to the Programme web page on the left of th escreen).
