Description
An ICTP Meeting in person

This school and workshop constitute an opportunity to celebrate the long-standing tradition of dynamical systems activities at ICTP initiated in the early 1980s.

Dynamical Systems is a vibrant field of current research in Mathematics, with connections to other fields as Differential Geometry, Probability Theory and ODEs, and potential applications in such diverse areas as Economics, Engineering and Science. It can be thought of as a modern development of ODEs, with guiding ideas going back to pioneering works of Poincaré, Birkhoff and Kolmogorov. The list of invited speakers reflects a diversity of topics, and their lectures will be the basis of the program, but other participants will have an opportunity to present their works in lectures or posters.

Topics include:
  • Complex Dynamics
  • Differentiable Dynamics
  • Ergodic Theory
  • Fractal Dimensions
  • Homogenous Dynamics
  • Nonuniformly Hyperbolic Dynamics
  • Partially Hyperbolic Dynamics
  • Parabolic Dynamics
