Uriel Morzan (University of Buenos Aires) Abstract:
In the present seminar I will analyze the optical response associated with different types of proton motions in molecular systems and soft matter environments, as obtained by molecular dynamics and electronic structure simulations.
I will show the ultrafast X-Ray absorption signature of transient proton transfer processes. Additionally, I will analyze the origin of the collective vibrational modes intimately related with the hydrogen-bond dynamics of liquid water and biomedically relevant macromolecules. Finally, I'll discuss the origin of light emission triggered by strong hydrogen bonds in biological systems. |
