The school will take place from 29th January, 2025 to 3rd February, 2025 at the
state-of-the-art Brac University Residential Campus in Savar, Bangladesh and it will help Bangladeshi physics and mathematics students become current with the latest developments.
 
Themed "Exploring the mathematics of the universe", the school will provide a platform for applying cutting-edge techniques to the most fundamental questions such as: How did the big bang begin? What is the ultimate fate of the universe? Is information lost in a black hole? How can current quantum gravity theories like string theory be used to understand black holes and the big bang?

About Jamal Nazrul Islam:

Professor Islam was a pioneer in mathematics and theoretical physics in Bangladesh. Motivated by the dream of creating a mathematics and physics community within Bangladesh he left his professorship in the UK, to establish a mathematics and physical sciences center atthe University of Chittagong called the Research Center in Mathematical & Physical Sciences. He is an intellectual parent of the current community of mathematical and theoretical physicists, receiving the Ekushey Padak Award in 2001. His primary field of research was early universe physics, black holes and quantum field theory.
