An ICTP-IAEA Meeting
Joint ICTP-IAEA Nuclear Stakeholder Engagement School is a 5-day training course designed to enhance understanding and raise awareness of stakeholder engagement as an essential element of a complete nuclear power programme.
For a nuclear energy project to be successful, stakeholder engagement must be embedded in the organizational management processes and its core values. Engagement needs to start before the project starts and last throughout the nuclear fuel cycle and the life cycle of nuclear facilities. A well-established stakeholder engagement strategy that includes tools for seeking out, listening to and acting upon various stakeholders views , is essential. Such an approach enhances the confidence in the project and is a prerequisite for a sustainable nuclear energy project.
