Speakers
- Martin GASTAL
Description
Abstract: The Open Quantum Institute at CERN is a collaborative platform to develop applications of Quantum Computing for society. Teams of for and non-profit stakeholders, supported by OQI, are sharing their resources/knowhow to design algorithms to help solving real life problems related to UN Sustainable Development Goals. A few such applications will be presented at various stages of development. Focusing on underserved geographies, educations programs have also been developed to train tomorrow’s talent in Quantum technologies. This talk will present OQI, its missions, and detail how our education and capacity building initiatives are being deployed. These include Hackathons, Internships, Online certifications, Schools and Bootcamps, and a program to Quick start curriculum design in partner universities. Initiatives to train decision makers will also be discussed like our Quantum Diplomacy game, or our Quantum Unplugged series.
