The topic is clearly relevant to scientists from developing countries, especially monsoon-effected countries for which Teleconnections are an important source for predictability which provide a necessary input for management of water resources. The topic is also of great scientific interest to many climate scientists. An intermediate complexity climate model will be introduced to study Teleconnections. This model can be used even with limited computing recourses, making it a very relevant tool for scientists from developing countries. Topics include: - Report present-day Teleconnections in Atmosphere and Oceans at all time- scales. - Decadal-to-multidecadal variations in Teleconnections. - Role of Stratosphere in Teleconnections. - Role of Ocean-Atmosphere coupling in Teleconnections. - How may present-day teleconnections change in the future climate? - Role of Teleconnections in predictability - Methods for identification of Teleconnections - Scale interactions in Teleconnections Main Organizers: - In-sik Kang (SNU, Korea) - Franco Molteni (ECMWF) - Riccardo Farneti (ICTP) - Fred Kucharski (ICTP)
