Speaker's Biography
Dr Gaia Donati joined Nature as an Associate Editor in 2017, and in this role she handles research papers in fields such as quantum information, plasma physics, particle and nuclear physics. She holds a PhD in experimental quantum optics from the University of Oxford, and completed her undergraduate studies in physics at Sapienza Università di Roma. On a freelance basis, she also worked as a science writer and fact-checker. Abstract of Talk In this talk I will present Nature and the Nature Research portfolio of journals to discuss how the scope, format and publishing model change from one title to another. Based on my experience as a manuscript editor, I will then focus on the peer review process at Nature and – from a more general standpoint – I will share some thoughts on how to publish a paper in a selective peer-reviewed journal in a way that feels like a fruitful experience instead of an obstacle course. |
