We are pleased to announce that the Physics Without Frontiers program (PWF) of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), in partnership with Garmian University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, holds a workshop on the "Large Hadron Collider" at CERN on February 22, 2022.
The participants are undergraduate students, faculty, and staff of the physics department at Garmian University. The workshop will briefly introduce particle physics, the standard model, and the physics of LHC at CERN. Participants will then be introduced to the most important achievements and discoveries of LHC in particle physics and the experiments being conducted. Finally, a live online session from CERN where the participants connect to the CERN and hear about the work being carried out at ATLAS Experiment.
