It is well expected that climate change will have substantial consequences on life conditions of human population throughout the world. In order to investigate the overall impact of climate change on mankind both global and local analysis are needed. The first are meant to give a broad indication of how much climate change will cost worldwide, the latter, by limiting themselves to specific issues and to a specific local reality, can quantify more precisely the regional cost of a modification of climate conditions. > In this work we will focus on the consequences of climate change on human health at Regional level, considering population living in the urban contexts. > For this purpose, we analyze the effect of meteorological variables on health conditions in terms of hospital admissions and mortality. At first, we focus on the elderly living in the municipality of Udine, we plan to extend this analysis to other cities in the north of Italy. > We tackle the issue using regression methods and in particular generalized linear models and generalized additive models. We model the daily counts of  the relevant events as a function of meteorological conditions and, at the same time, we allow for the effect of pollutant concentrations. > Preliminary results will be presented together with a description of the future development of this research.
