Description
Abstract: Certain inequalities which are fundamental in the study of real analytic functions (Lojasiewicz inequalities) can be interpreted geometrically. In complex analytic geometry inequalities between moduli of analytic functions correspond to certain algebraic relations. This also gives rise to geometric interpretations of inequalities. The lecture will present some consequences of this, and a geometric interpretation of a version of Artin's approximation theorem.
