The Ecological and Environmental Economics (EEE) Programme, a joint programme of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics, is organising the 3rd International
Workshop on Integrated Climate Models: An interdisciplinary assessment of climate impacts and policies. The workshop will be held in the ICTP headquarters in Trieste, Italy, from 12 to 13 January 2006.
This is the third of a series of workshops which key target is to verify the state of art of integrated climate modeling by focusing on the assessment of climate impacts and the evaluation of climate policies. The debate on aspects previously missing or badly tackled should be stimulated by presenting a range of climate models and by discussing their results. A lot of attention is to be given to work in progress in order to capture the latest developments in climate modeling. Insights with respect to the key issues lacking in integrated climate models are expected and strategies to improve the actual state of integrated modeling will be analysed.
One of the aims of the EEE Programme is to organise research and training activities with the final objective of enabling researchers from the developing countries to join the international academic network in the field of ecological and environmental economics. In accordance to this framework, the EEE Programme intends to launch a call for applications in order to select a limited number of qualified researchers from developing countries to attend the workshop.
