The blackbody radiation in thermal equilibrium at a temperature T in a box L^3 with periodic boundary conditions is affected by strong finite-size effects which can be expressed in a closed form in terms of the dimensionless parameter LT. These have to be taken into account for a correct interpretation of the numerical simulations of gluon gas at high temperature.
