Joint ICTP/SISSA Statistical Physics seminar:"Quantum stochastic processes: A case study"
Starts 5 Apr 2011 12:00
Ends 5 Apr 2011 20:00
Central European Time
SISSA, Santorio Bldg, Room 129
Quantum stochastic processes are tools to describe open and dissipative quantum systems. We shall discuss a simple down-to-earth model of quantum stochastic process, quantum analogue of the Brownian motion, whose definition is inspired by geometrical considerations but also by speculative dissipative phenomena in the quantum Hall effect.
