The first online Latin American hackathon on Science and Education returns this year with new challenges and will take place online from October 20 to 22, 2023 (in Spanish).

Co-Afina is a hackathon promoted by LA-CoNGA physics (https://laconga.redclara.net/) with the support of ICTP’s Physics Without Frontiers program, in which university students in Latin America collaboratively develop solutions to solve problems related to scientific and educational issues of social impact.
We follow the international principles of Open Access. In this space we invite, in a first stage, individuals and organizations to propose challenges. In the second stage we invite students enrolled in Latin American universities at any level (and career!) to register and apply to participate in the hackathon and solve the challenges posed.

We keep asking ourselves about Open Data with education and with the social impact of scientific knowledge: how can open data help us to improve science education? What initiatives could be applied to communicate science with this data?
