Federal University of Technology, Department of Physics, Akure and University of Nigeria, Department of Physics, Nsukka, Nigeria
The ongoing second quantum revolution, which promises enormous potential in quantum science and applications, have attracted more than $50 billion between the US, China, and the EU. Despite the importance of scientific advancement, Africa is at the verge of being left behind in the current revolution. The aim of the Quantum Roadshow in Nigeria is to galvanize quantum research among Nigeria universities.

The Roadshow targets final year undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and early career researchers at two different universities situated in distinct geographical region of Nigeria.

The program consists of a series of lectures on current state of quantum initiatives in the morning and hands-on sessions using the quantum simulation software in the afternoon. There will be a career session to discuss opportunities in quantum science and technology as well as topics of interest such as women in science.

The school will be held at:
  • The Department of Physics at Federal University of Technology Akure from November 10th to 12th, 2024.
  • The Department of Physics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka from November 14th to 15th, 2024.

Eligibility:

The program is open primarily to senior undergraduate and graduate students, lecturers, and researchers in physical sciences and engineering.
Only registered participants with full attendance of the lectures and hands-on sessions will receive the ICTP-PWF certificate at the end of the program.
